The Lower Self and Snake: A Fable of Misplaced Compassion

Image
There once lived a humble woodcutter in a village, who spent his days gathering firewood from the forest. One winter morning, while bundling his load, he unknowingly fastened a snake among the logs he had gathered. The serpent, cold and motionless, lay stiff like a dry twig. Mistaking it for a branch, the woodcutter tied it tightly into his bundle and carried it home. The Snake Bites the Woodcutter: Back at his cottage, when he placed the bundle beside the hearth, and the fire crackled and the warmth spread through the room, the snake slowly began to stir. Revived by the heat, it regained its senses, and in an unthinking moment of primal instinct, it bit the very person who had unknowingly saved its life. The woodcutter, shocked and betrayed, collapsed, realizing too late that kindness extended without discernment can become a fatal mistake for one. The Symbolism Behind the Story of the lower self and snake: At first glance, the tale seems like a simple fable about trust and consequenc...

Environmental Meltdown Around the Shrine of Sham Baba Son of Sultan Mehmoud Ghaznavi

Image
Fairly up the canal from  Swat River through the foothills, just above Kanju Township, lies a small graveyard. In the middle of it  is a tomb, with two large graves. The headstone on the one reads  “ Sham Baba son of Sultan Mehmoud Ghaznavi”, also known as ‘idol smasher’ in history, and the other of his companion "Qahrandokay Baba". They were reportedly martyred in a Holy War in 413 Hijrah and buried there in the  unlikely place, where the highlanders lay their dead to rest by a way of funeral ovation . Folklores About Sham Baba: Myths and Legends through Generations Unlike his brother  Chino Baba down in the marshland or springs home, the whole solitary mountainous region is known through Sham Baba . They reportedly came from Sham (Syria) for a holy war. The locals would even show you the imprints of Sham Baba’s horse legs. However, there is no authentic record to prove or disapprove these sayings, except the folklores descending down through generation...

Natural Swimming Pool: Breathtaking Beauty of Kuz Dub

Image
Perhaps, I wouldn't have written this blog post if the remnants of the bygone days were there in the ruins of the once lively natural swimming pool in Chino Baba area of Kanju, Swat.  Each feature of the decay told a story of its own, of a gradual transformation from a well-loved oasis to an untamed relic.   Inspiration   in the Ruins of the Natural Swimming Pool : Its Timeless Allure The dry bed of this natural artifact of the past  was more than just a decayed structure for me . Here,  I could see the stories, memories, and emotions of different times in its canvas.  The crisp and clear water of the natural swimming pool , once meticulously maintained, gave way to plants beside its edges and attracted rich aquatic life.  We swam in the depths of the natural swimming pool during the summer season and enjoyed its serenity at other times. It also recalled me a drowning episode, which I narrowly escaped with the help of my elders.  T he remnants of...

From Simple Cheat Chat to Israel-Palestine conflict

Image
Mistakes may seem a major setback by the time we commit them, but they are a stepping stone to important life lessons. Once the reality sets in, we learn much from them and reframe our shattered memories. How a  simple cheat chat led me to the Israel-Palestine conflict and the massacres thereof giving me a deep insight into this fact. Cheat Chat on Messenger: My Facebook friend,  with whom I had covered a long distance in cheat chat,  taught me much about this fact, when he exposed himself to be a male instead of female. Luckily, my persistency in denying to become her boyfriend, being a Muslim, led him to change his mind and uncovered the truth about himself to me.  I would not believe this, until he exposed himself from his voice message and then telling me that  he didn't want to deceive a person like me anymore. He also tried to teach me that I should not believe a profile picture of someone on Facebook messenger, until I have myself come to know about his o...
